THE SEASIDE came to Hedon last Friday (29th August 2014) as a beach-scene was recreated at Westlands Play Park on Far Bank and over 70 families brought their children to play and make sand castles.
The ‘Beach Day’ initiative came from Hedon Children’s Centre and took place on a windy, albeit hot sunny morning making getting an ice-cream an essential requirement! Aimed at children under 8, parents, grandparents and carers were advised to be prepared and bring hats, sun-cream, buckets & spades – just like a real trip to the seaside! With beach games, a puppet show and a ball-pool it really seemed like it was ‘Hedon-on-sea’.
Emma Fellows from the Children’s Centre said it had been a very successful and enjoyable morning: “We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all that attended the session.”
