SENIOR COUNCILLORS from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council meet next week to consider an increase in council tax bills for local residents from 1st April 2010.

But what do you currently pay? You can find out more about your council tax from the East Riding Council website at Council Tax – Billing. The current amount payable in each area (1st April 2009 – 31st March 2010)  is available to download as a document on the council website or here at Council Tax 2009/10.

The amounts payable in Hedon are:

  • Band A £994.14
  • Band B £1,159.82
  • Band C £1,325.51
  • Band D £1,491.21
  • Band E £1,822.60
  • Band F £2,153.97
  • Band G £2,485.35
  • Band H £2,982.42

If you are not sure what council tax band your property is in then www.mycounciltax.org.uk can help. Put your post code in and it will reveal local base information about your council tax (Note: The annual council tax charges referred to here are approximate only. They do not take into account local precepts and variations).
