The next in our walking series is a short circular walk starting from Preston Community Hall.
Apparently, Nuns Walk is the old trail that nuns and other visitors would take to reach All Saint’s Church. This public footpath was renovated in 1995 by Preston Parish Council. Takes about 25 minutes to complete.
Take special care when crossing roads at Cranswick Foods. The walk can be very muddy and waterlogged in places after prolonged rain.
The links are what3words addresses that refer to 3-metre square locations.
Follow the trail, through the fences marked with the yellow ‘Public Footpath’ arrows and you will reach a green fence indicating the perimeter of Cranswick foods. Follow the footpath by the side of Cranswick Foods.
Turn left along Staithes Road. You pass the main entrance of Cranswick Foods. Continue to the junction with Main Street (the Crossroads), turn left and continue to the starting point at the Community Hall.
Based on walks sent in by Pam Wakelam and Carol Osgerby and used by the Preston Walkers.
Coronavirus Note: You should currently minimise time spent outside your home, but you can leave your home to do an exercise walk. This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area. You can exercise in a public outdoor place, by yourself, with the people you live with, with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one) or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household. Whilst walking you should maintain social distancing.
