The East Riding Council has achieved a four star rating from the Audit Commission for its performance according to the council website. Congratulations are rightly deserved and further praise should be given to the council for its ambitious £100m regeneration plans.

However, one word of caution which will surely be taken on board by the council: Don’t forget the pockets of poverty that – although not necessarily appearing in the official documents – still exist in the East Riding!
