PRESTON FAMILY FUN DAY has been declared a success! On behalf of the organising Preston Village Community Group, Geoff Catterick said of the event that took place last Saturday 6 August at the Nag’s Head:
“The weather was for once very kind to us and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We estimate some 750 people visited the event raising almost £2,500 for our good causes. The main show trophies were won by Lorraine West (Jack Lowe Trophy for best vegetables) and Jo Adams won the Best Handicraft and the Best Exhibit awards.”
Certificates for First in Class Show Entries were presented by Vikki Hogger, who represented all the good causes supported by the Show, but particularly the Blood Pressure monitoring project. Certificates were won by Eric Hunn, Judy Bowker, Linda McGowan, Pat Ferguson, Pauline Rouse, Teresa, Jean Simms, Mary Wood, Jane Jeffrey, Sandra Wood, and Keith Maddon. Others were awarded but not collected on the day. Additional Trophies for the Photography Competition were won by Simon Dallimore (Photographer of The Year) and Alex Darcy (Young Photographer of The Year).
Note: It is possible that some of the people pictured below were collecting awards on behalf of the named person.
