Hedon Viewfinders Club Night – distortion effects through the lens
Hedon Viewfinders Photography Club Night on Wednesday, May 6th, will involve experimenting with effects created by distorting the view through your lens. Whether it’s holding a goodie wrapper across, using tinfoil, a prism or a mirror or placing a purpose-built filter in front of your lens, Wednesday will be a fun night of experimentation.
The night will provide a fun opportunity to practice with your camera settings. Placing objects in front of your lens reduces the amount of light entering your camera. You need to compensate by adding more light, opening your aperture, reducing your shutter speed, raising your ISO, or a combination of these.
Depending on weather conditions, we may be able to offer participants the opportunity to photograph the sunset or light trails after dark.
New to photography? Confused by some of the jargon used here? Then come along on Wednesday and see how easy it really is.
