Hedon Viewfinders photo walk and other activities

HEDON VIEWFINDERS photography club picks up the pace as coronavirus restrictions ease. A Hedon to Paull Photo Walk takes place on Sunday.

HEDON VIEWFINDERS photography club is picking up the pace of its activities as coronavirus restrictions ease. A Hedon to Paull Photo Walk takes place on Sunday. Other activities are also planned.

With the phased easing of COVID-19 restrictions, local groups feel more confident about holding events. The success of the vaccination rollout and the possible ending of restrictions on Monday 21 June 2021 has emboldened groups to make plans. Hedon Viewfinders is one of those. Online technology and outdoor workshops allowed some activities to continue during the lockdowns. But the Club now hopes to bring members together again, whilst still observing caution.

On Wednesday 9 June an indoor photography session takes place at the group’s Haven Arms base from 7pm. The theme of ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ hopes to inspire the imagination and lead to some creative tabletop photography. Coronavirus restrictions apply, with groups of up to six to a table and no mixing between tables. Face coverings must be worn when not sat down. Track & Trace is in operation.

Photo Walk

This week, on Sunday 13 June, a Photo Walk is being held (weather dependent) that will take in the industrial and countryside views around Saltend. The Hedon to Paull hour-long walk starts from the Haven Arms car park at 6 pm. It will follow the route alongside the Burstwick Drain and Humber Bank. Everyone is welcome to attend and take photos. It’s free, and you don’t have to be a member of Viewfinders to take part. Social distancing applies. If over 30 people arrive, there will be two distinct groups setting off at staggered times.

Next week, the club activities continue on Wednesday 16 June with an outdoor Photography Treasure Hunt. Its location will be revealed on the Club website. In other news from the group; a district-wide photography competition is to be organised. The competition will be a new annual feature of the Preston Show.
