MAGDALEN PARK, the state-of-the-art care home on Magdalen Lane, Hedon has job opportunities available for those who seek to work at the cutting-edge of the care industry.

John Garton, the Director of Yorkare Homes Ltd, revealed the employment opportunities still available at the local care provider in his update sent to the Hedon Blog this week:

“After a very hectic but ultimately successful ‘Open Day’ weekend of 30/31 August, when over 250 people are estimated to have attended, we finally opened our doors to our first Resident on 1st September and it really hasn’t calmed down since!

“The last six weeks has seen interest maintained with enquiries coming in daily. We now have twenty eight Residents making Magdalen Park their home, which is well ahead of our forecasts. The Home is now starting to form its own personality as staff and Residents get to know each other. We have already held two concerts in our pub, The Magdalen Arms!

“Having some 30-plus individuals employed already, and receiving the training they require to achieve the high standards of care which is the ‘norm’ for Yorkare Homes Ltd, we are now looking to employ more staff.

“So if you aspire to work in the Care Industry then please call in for an Application Form, or ring 01482 700733 or email reception@magdalenpark.co.uk and we will send you one. We are looking for day/night carers, ancillary and activity staff.

“Magdalen Park is still in its early stages of its development but is clearly going to be a great success.”

It’s not just jobs, Magdalen Park also offers some interesting volunteer placements:

“If you want to be involved but are not looking for employment why not consider being a volunteer – we would love to find a piano player who can entertain our Residents with a fortnightly sing-a-long in the Pub!”

The formal Open Days may have ended at the end of August 2014, but Mr Garton has emphasised that people can still visit at any time. But those who need to discuss specific care needs should make an appointment with Magdalen Park manager, Sue Rollinson, who will be able to advise you on all aspects you need to consider.
