Dementia worrying changes nothing talking changes everything posterDEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK takes place from Sunday 19th until Saturday 25th May 2013. As part of the week’s activities an information stand will be available in Hedon Library from 10 am – 12 noon on Wednesday 22nd May.

There are approximately 7,827 in Hull and East Riding living with dementia and 800,000 in the UK. Many more are affected through looking after a relative with dementia.

Dementia Awareness Week™ helps the Alzheimer’s Society to raise awareness of dementia and encourage local events and fundraising opportunities

As the population gets older, we all face the risk of developing dementia. The more we know about the condition, the more prepared we will be to face it.

The theme of Dementia Awareness Week™ 2013 is:

‘Worrying changes nothing. Talking changes everything’.

Find out more by talking to the Alzheimer’s Society on Wednesday. You can also talk to the Society and join the discussion at the dedicated website pages.
