Hedon Town Council Newsletter July 2011001

THE HOLDERNESS HEARTBEAT is currently being distributed in the town. This July 2011 issue contains the new Hedon Town Council Newsletter.

The four page newsletter in the middle pages of the Heartbeat is mostly taken up with an explanation of how Hedon Town Council conducts its business through its committee structure. The Chair of each committee describes the work currently being carried out.

The front page contains an introduction from Town Mayor, Councillor Mrs Ann Suggit, who invites residents to give their views and suggestions on the possible placement of a pedestrian crossing in the Market Place:

The Mayor said: “The ‘dog leg’ crossing at the junction with George Street is totally inadequate for prams, wheel chairs and the elderly crossing the road at this point. I would welcome your views on this matter and any support / suggestions for a crossing point that you may have.”

The newsletter asks for ideas on what should happen in the town to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in June next year: Fireworks, beacon lighting, etc. Residents wishing to attend one of the Hedon Town Silver Shows and presentations held throughout the year are asked to let the Council know in writing or by e-mail.

In all, the package of the Hedon Town Council Newsletter incorporated into the Holderness Heartbeat Ad-Mag, seems to work quite well.
