£220,000 additional consultancy cost of implementing East Riding Car Parking charges

After hearing a neighbour’s intense tirade against the East Riding Council’s proposed car parking yesterday in a local pub (the real battleground for hearts and minds!?), then I’m duty bound to report on the Hull Daily Mail’s latest revelation about the proposed employment of specialist consultants to implement the scheme:

HUNDREDS of thousands of pounds of taxpayers’ money will be spent on consultants if plans to charge for parking at sites across the East Riding go ahead.

The Mail can reveal East Riding Council would fork out £220,000 on bringing in traffic experts – more than half the total amount earmarked to implement the scheme.
