East Riding of Yorkshire Council has launched a discretionary household support grant scheme to assist those who need it most with the cost of food, energy, water bills and other essentials this winter.
“The Pantry is open every Thursday 10.30 am -12.30 pm at the church. Up to 15 store cupboard items are available every week to collect. We often have cleaning products, chilled food and fresh fruit and vegetables available.”
Rev. Sue Pulko has reminded folks that the St. Augustine’s Pantry will be open on Thursdays including Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 10:30am – 12.30pm when in addition to the basic 12 items, fruit and veg, a Christmas treat and a Christmas gift will be available.
The Pantry at St. Augustine’s Church, Hedon continues to provide a useful service to residents who are facing financial difficulties. That service has now been boosted by the Holderness Lions who yesterday donated 15 festive bags to the Pantry.
