Today’s jigsaw was created using the filter Glitch in Affinity on an original photograph.
In launching the new ‘free’ Affinity, which brings its former separate design, photo editing, and layout tools into one customizable program, the owner, Canva, hopes to steal a march on rivals who operate via subscription models. The Australian multinational proprietary software company, in offering Affinity for free, intend to monetise via optional AI (Artificial Intelligence) features already available to Canva’s premium account holders. They say, however, that users’ creative work will not be used to train AI.
Whilst not necessarily intuitive and easy to learn for those new to design and editing, for those who persevere, the new program offers endless creative opportunities.
