Harman Red – Results:
These are some of the resulting scans of the negatives from the Harman Red film we loaded last week.
We expected an apocalyptic and dystopian look. The scans show various orange tones, with deeper orange for underexposed shots and—strangely—a green look for overexposed shots!

The film was fun to shoot as you tried to imagine the outcome. Is it something I would shoot regularly? Probably not, but it does sum up the fascination of film photography. With different film stocks, you get different results, whether subtle differences, or more extreme as in this case. This seems to be something I never really considered much when film was mainstream. You just got a film to try and recreate and record the scene you were shooting. You were chasing a realistic look.
For information, the lab I use to develop and produce my scans is Analogue Wonderland based in High Wycombe. The AW website is a great resource for all those folks interested in film photography and even has a ‘beginners hub‘.
Hedon Viewfinders:
The Hedon Viewfinders ‘Month of Love’ film photography print competition took place on Wednesday, and two members shared the winners’ limelight – Maggie and Michelle produced photograph-based greetings cards.
