Beyond Skegness… An illustrated talk hosted by the Arts Society, Holderness.

The iconic Great Northern Railway poster of the jolly fisherman figure bouncing along the beach made Skegness famous. However, the prolific illustrator John Hassall did so much more than this 1908 piece. This talk will help you discover his other work in a variety of genres.

The talk takes place on Thursday 17 November at 10.30 am at The Hornsea Floral Hall. Visitors are welcome for a suggested donation of £7.

The Arts Society: Holderness meets on the third Thursday morning of most months in Hornsea Floral Hall to hear illustrated lectures on a variety of arts-based topics.

You do not need to be artistic yourself. You can opt to just sit and be entertained by expert and informative lecturers sharing their enthusiasm about painting, architecture, music, gardens, and many other related subjects.

We are a friendly group, and many members have been coming for a number of years since the Society was founded nearly 40 years ago. Visitors who just want to hear a particular talk on a subject that interests them are also very welcome. Look out for the publicity about each month’s topics.

Visitors are welcome for a suggested donation of £7 for entry. Annual membership of the Society is available.
