Hedon Beacon lit for #PlatinumJubilee

IT LOOKED A BIT SPARSE on Hedon’s Market Hill last night (2 June 2022) at 8.30pm, but by 9.45pm the green was packed full of people for the Lighting of the Hedon Beacon. The Beacon was lit at the same time as more than 3000 others were set ablaze across the UK and the Commonwealth.

The embers on the beacon have cooled, but ready to heat up #Hedfest22 is the Open-Air Stage at Far Bank open today (Friday 3 June) from 2pm. Join the Carnival Parade at 1pm at Market Hill/Ivy Lane and it will take you all the way to join the Far Bank Stage off Drapers Lane.

There’s also the Stage at the Church from 2pm and Street Poetry in the Haven Arms from 3pm. And do spend some time taking a look around our pretty town, which is all dressed up for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
