There are vacancies for two councillors on the Thorngumbald Parish Council caused by resignations.

A by-election to fill the vacancies for two councillors will be held if, by 19 April 2022, 10 electors for the parish council give notice in writing to the chief executive of East Riding of Yorkshire Council at County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA claiming such an election.

If no such notice is given the parish council will fill the vacancies by co-option.

Any written requests calling for an election to fill the vacancies will be available for public inspection and copying under Section 228(5) of the Local Government Act 1972.

  1. Should any eligible Thorngumbald PC electors not wish to see these vacancies filled by co-option, I understand that e-mailed submissions to the Chief Exec of ERYC are acceptable.

The Chief Exec. is Ms Caroline Lacey and her e-mail address is: caroline.lacey@eastriding.gov.uk

  2. Is this another two resignations? As the last news post, from around four months ago, on the Thorngumbald PC website was about two vacancies, again as a result of resignations, where the deadline for confirming interest was 28th January.

To paraphrase Marcellus, ‘is there something rotten in the state of Thorngumbald, Camerton and Ryehill’?
