Hull Ferens Open Exhibition 2022

All UK artists aged 16 or above can enter and are eligible to submit up to three pieces of work for consideration to the Hull Ferens Open Exhibition

FERENS OPEN EXHIBITION.

MANY local artists, including local digital image-makers and photographers, have had work displayed in the Ferens Open exhibition.

All UK artists aged 16 or above can enter and are eligible to submit up to three pieces of work for consideration between Tuesday 2 November and Sunday 21 November 2021 using an online application form. The chosen artworks will be on display from Saturday 19 February until Monday 2 May 2022.

Prizes are on offer for the chosen works, which have been kindly donated by Friends of the Ferens and BSB Architecture, they include:

  • Friends of the Ferens Award: Awards of £350 (first prize), £250 (second prize) and £200 (third prize) will go to winning entries selected by the Friends of the Ferens.
  • Future Ferens Young and Emerging Talent Award: Young artists age 16 to 25 are eligible for this prize. An award of £150 will go to an artist selected by BSB Architecture and the Future Ferens.
  • Chair’s award: Hull Culture & Leisure: An award of £100 will go to the winning entry selected by Hull Culture and Leisure Chair Marjorie Brabazon.
  • People’s Vote: An award of £100 will go to a winning entry selected by the public

It costs £5 to submit each piece of artwork, and the work must have been created within the last 18 months.

I was delighted to get Shadowlands accepted by selectors for the 2018 Open. This was later sold. A version of the original photograph is currently on display at Hedon Museum.
