THORNGUMBALD’S Community Institute is set to re-open. The community building has recently undergone some refurbishment work and a deep clean in order to be COVID secure. It will open again from Sunday 18th October 2020.
The Community Institute at the heart of Thorngumbald, but a resource for the whole parish, already has a number of activities scheduled to return subject to coronavirus restrictions, including Keep Fit class, Brownies and bowling. It will also be used by St Mary’s and the Methodist Churches for various events throughout the year.
The hall makes an excellent venue for such things as family and children’s parties with its excellent kitchen facilities and other amenities including a disabled toilet.

Karen Worsnop from the Community Institute, said: “We are very fortunate in Thorngumbald to have such good facilities available to us as the Community Institute. Like all such things, however, it is a case of using them or losing them. People over many years and generations have worked hard to provide these facilities and now it is our turn to maintain and improve them.”
