A QUICK look at what’s happening in the local business scene:

Hedon Carpets and Beds are moving into the old Potters Cabin premises on Market Place – and work is taking place there to facilitate that move. Their current premises on Watmough’s Arcade are the subject of a planning application by Glenvern Investments who want to attract a new tenant there. It was discussed by the Hedon Town Council on Thursday who recommended the application be approved subject to consideration by the East Riding Council’s Conservation Officer, but with the proviso that it not be used for a food take-away. The application is being dealt with by the East Riding Council.

The old angling shop on George Street is being completely refurbished. At this stage the purpose of the new business is unknown.

Work continues on the new Heron Foods extension at the old Audio Room.

As reported last week the Hedon Fitness and Nutrition shop is expecting to open in May.

The old Alison Hall is listed as ‘under offer’.

It was reported in February that Santander based at Dennis Estate Agents is closing in August. This is part of a national move by the bank to close all of its third-party outlets. However, it is believed that the Estate Agents will be working with another partner to continue providing convenient banking services.
