WBD2014_NBT_red_leftIT’S WORLD BOOK DAY today Thursday 6th March although events actually kicked off yesterday (5th March) at the Hedon Library with a World Book Day-themed Bookstart Bear Club story time for the under 5s.

World Book Day was designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. World Book Day is a partnership of publishers, booksellers and interested parties who work together to promote books and reading for the personal enrichment and enjoyment of all – especially children.

Hedon Primary School is getting involved today and have asked children to come to school dressed as a character from a book.

Find out more about World Book Day at the informative website about the event.
