Sleeping Beauty Cast - Hedon Panto 2014

THE traditional family Pantomime of Sleeping Beauty is brought to life in Hedon next week.

The award-winning adaptation of the fairy tale by Ben Crocker is given the Hedon Drama Group treatment! It includes, what Director Lesley Thomas says, “a few bizarre twists” along the way that are typical of the local drama group.

Expect a frolic of fairies, a cluster of cats, and the occasional zombie to join in the fun on stage as the beautiful Princess awaits her ill-fated date with a spinning wheel needle that will send her into a 100-year-long sleep!

Slapstick and topical jokes will be offered by the shockingly-frocked Queen Dorothy, the Panto Dame, while boos and hisses will be the reward of the evil Carabosse as she hatches her dastardly plans.

With special thanks to Helen Dewson from Burton Constable Hall for the loan of the spinning wheel.

Great family fun!

Sleeping Beauty is staged at the Alexandra Hall, St Augustine’s Gate, Hedon from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th January with shows starting at 7:30pm and a Saturday Matinee at 2:30pm.

Tickets: £5 (£4 concessions) / £15 for family of four. Can pay on the door or book via Dave Jordan on 01482 896592.
