A HOLE IN THE GROUND is causing much curiosity and bemusement in Draper’s Lane. The hole was dug by contractors to Yorkshire Water following the big freeze. It could more correctly be described as a ‘well’ as it is full of water and overflowing into a nearby drain.

Nearly two weeks later the hole is still there – with a notice that kindly informs us that the contractors are carrying out essential work on Yorkshire Water’s network and that this may involve leaving the site unattended.

So what is going on?

Well the Yorkshire Water website reports that the work began on the 13th January and is scheduled to end on the 28th, so we wait to see what develops tomorrow!?
