Hedon’s Christmas tree vandalised

THE MARKET PLACE CHRISTMAS TREE which was ceremonially lit up in Hedon at the Switch-On event on 26th November 2010, was subjected to an attack by vandals and felled early on New Year’s Day 2011.

The Holderness Gazette covers the story in its current weekly edition. The damage was discovered by deputy town Mayor David Thompson in the early hours of 1st January according to the newspaper.

  1. I do hope the CCTV shows who did this, as the main stem of the tree was approx 6 to 8 inches diameter, it appears there was more than one culprit.
