An ambitious plan to cover green spaces in Patrington with hand-made poppies for Remembrance Day 2021 has been conceived by Gareth Walker in the village – and he needs help!

“I was wondering if the people of Hedon could help me out, I live in Patrington and for Remembrance Day this year, I am looking to do a handmade poppy display and need as many empty plastic bottles as possible in any size. If people would be willing to collect these I can collect from them (socially distanced of course).

“Its a bit time consuming but I cut the bottom of the bottles and then they all get hand sprayed in red and the centres of them are detailed in black, they are then hot glue attached to canes and the plan is to cover as many green spaces in our village as possible but I’m needing a couple of thousand for it to have the impact I’m after.”
