On behalf of East Riding Council (ER), we would like to thank the people of S W Holderness for your amazing community spirit during the current crisis. Indeed, not just SWH but all across the East Riding, local “action groups” are being set up to support the most vulnerable residents.
From today, the ER will be launching the ‘Community Hub’. The Hub will support community groups and also ask them to help out when needed. The telephone number will be released over the next 12 to 24 hours and the plan is for the telephone number to be posted to each home in East Yorkshire and alongside that, the “bin men” will be putting a sticker on the wheely bins at all residential properties.
Any community groups are requested to register with www.beecan.org. The more groups that register, the greater help we can give to the community. The Hub will be staffed by East Riding Council employees and supported by the British Army.
The current situation changes from hour to hour, we will, as Ward Members, attempt to keep you updated.
If you have any neighbours or friends who are not on social media please let them know.
Finally, the main thing that must be remembered is to keep yourself safe and maintain a safe distance of two metres from others.
