Boots Chemist HedonHUMBERSIDE POLICE issued the following statement this morning:

Humberside Police logo HedonJUST before 1 am this morning (Wednesday, February 3, 2016) a 999 call was made to the police reporting three men who had allegedly forced entry into the Boots Chemist in Market Place, Hedon.

Further calls came in from members of the public reporting the men had left the chemist and had driven down a one-way system the wrong way in Hedon.

Traffic police, the police helicopter and patrol officers all responded to the incident and a 10-minute pursuit followed, behind the get-away vehicle, taking the officers across East Hull and into Cottingham.

By 1.12am three men abandoned the car, but were stopped and successfully arrested in connection with the burglary and dangerous driving offences a few minutes later on Tilbury Road, Hull.

A 17-year-old Hull man was arrested in connection with burglary, a 26-year-old Hull man was arrested in connection with dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, two burglaries, driving whilst unfit, no insurance and driving otherwise in accordance. The third man, a 35-year-old Hull man was arrested in connection with burglary, failing to stop for police and dangerous driving.

All three men remain in police custody.

    Following a burglary on Wednesday 3 February at Boots Chemist in Market Place, Hedon and a police pursuit across East Hull and into Cottingham involving roads policing officers and the police helicopter Cottingham. Three Hull men were arrested and taken into custody.

    Following police investigations and questioning a 26-year-old Ian James Atkinson of Bainton Grove, Hull is charged with two counts of burglary, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence. He will appear at Hull Magistrates Court today.

    35-year-old William Henry Webb of Boothferry Road, Hull is charged with burglary, possession of class A drug – Cocaine, possession of class A drug – Heroin. He will appear at Hull Magistrates Court today.

    A 17-year-old Hull man received a police caution and has been released from custody.
