THE SATURDAY of HedFest 2015 will be CARNIVAL Day! A touch of Rio de Janeiro will be coming to spice up ancient Hedon!
HedFest Carnival will be a walking, jogging, dancing, musical parade of colourful costumes; a party procession of hats, bonnets, caps, masks and giant heads that will make its way around Hedon creating a unique sight in the town.
Hedon is well-known for its traditional civic parades, something the town does very well – HedFest 15 will take all the best of those and add the magic of carnival to create a fantastic party atmosphere!
The local schools, nurseries and youth groups are being contacted by Anita from HedFest to see how they can get involved in the carnival. Contingents are still being sought to take part and workshops are being held to make costumes, giant heads and other carnival props.
The carnival will march, samba and rock its way around Hedon on
SATURDAY 15th AUGUST as part of HedFest 15.
Are you a local dance group, marching band, youth group or organisation that isn’t involved yet? Contact Hedon Town Council in the first instance at e.mail: townclerk@hedon.gov.uk – note the council is dealing with dozens of enquiries and relaying them to the relevant HedFest organisers so patience please if you don’t receive an immediate response.
