A NEW PARTY will be standing a candidate for the Beverley and Holderness constituency in the General Election.
Yorkshire First has selected Hornsea Councillor Lee Walton to fight for the seat to be contested on Thursday 7th May 2015.
On the Yorkshire First website, Lee Walton says:
“I want to see more powers devolved to communities like Hornsea and Beverley so they may take decisions on what works best for them.
“The distrust of Westminster parties and politicians is now widespread. Yorkshire First has a code of conduct and no ‘party whip’.
“We aim to put our constituents before party interest and do our politics differently.”
The other candidates declared are:
- Denis Healy for the Liberal Democrats
- Richard Howarth for the Green Party
- Margaret Pinder for the Labour Party
- Gary Shores for UKIP
- Graham Stuart for the Conservative Party
