Operation Christmas Child – Hedon appeal 2014

Operation Christmas ChildOPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is a children’s Christmas project run by the Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse. The project has been sending gift-filled shoeboxes to disadvantaged children around the world since 1990. It aims to bring a little bit of joy into the lives of over 80 million children.

In the Hedon area the Shoebox Appeal has been annually organised by Mrs Margaret Ainscough, but unfortunately due to family circumstances Margaret is unable to conduct the appeal this year. Margaret has asked Mrs Brenda Goldspink to take on the task and Brenda has kindly volunteered to do so.

Leaflets about the Shoebox Appeal can be obtained from Hedon Library or Boots the Chemist in the Market Place. Boots will also be a drop-off point for filled Shoeboxes along with 3, Merryman Garth, Hedon.

For further information about the appeal please contact Brenda on local telephone number 899180.
