THE COFFEE MORNING organised on Saturday at Hedon Town Hall to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support was a great success.
Although a cold morning, lots of people turned up to support the event organised by 21-year-old Naomi Bean and Amy Walker (20). The two girls were outside the Town Hall drumming up support and even visited local shops with a tray of cakes and a collecting tin.
Margaret Anderson who was helping on one of the stalls said: “It’s brilliant to see young people organising a charity event like this. They’ve put in lots of work and have done a great job.”
At the end of the day, a delighted Naomi told us: “It’s gone really well. We raised an amazing £244.90 we are so proud of the hard work everyone’s put into making this an amazing event. We’d like to thank Hedon Town Council for letting us use the room.”
The two girls and the supporting stall-holders had all worked together to turn the ancient council chamber into an attractive and friendly venue for the event.
