Immobilise PosterFREE BIKE LIGHTS were given away to children on Saturday under an initiative sponsored by Hedon Youth Group in co-operation with Humberside Police.

The bicycle lights had been provided by Hedon Youth Group and with the onset of winter with its longer, darker nights young cyclists were being encouraged to ‘light-up’ when out and about on their bikes. 12-year-old Axel Thompson and eight year old Dylan Sawyer were just two of the recipients of the lights, which saw the entire stock distributed at the big Hedon Co-op on Saturday 9th November 2013.

Crime prevention advice was also available offered by Police Community Support Officers Janice Wilcock and Simon Cook, and Crime Prevention Volunteer Robert Mackenzie was doing a marvellous job promoting the free www.immobilise.com website which allows people to register their treasured possessions. If those possessions are stolen, then the website can play a useful role in ensuring that they are returned to you if recovered by the police.
