WITH NOVEMBER starting tomorrow, then facial hair will become a topic of conversation in workplaces, churches and pubs across the land as people take part in Movember. And the Station Pub in Hedon is getting involved this year too!

Movember is all about raising awareness about male cancers, and raising money for cancer care charities – through growing a moustache during the month of November. It’s normally men that take part – but hey, it is the 21st Century so lets see how the ladies might get involved!?
The rules are; you start clean-shaven on the first of November – then you grow and cultivate the hairy piece of art under your nose during the next 30 days! Beards aren’t officially part of Movember, but in the name of a good cause many people opt for the full set of whiskers.
Getting involved at The Station is easy – just register with the pub that you are taking part (sign the wall poster in the bar) and agree to donate a fiver to Movember. This doesn’t stop you getting your own sponsors and raising even more money.
You can find out more about Movember officially at http://uk.movember.com/ the UK website of Movember.Com who apparently raised more than £92m around the world last year!
We’ll be bringing you updates on the state of hairiness at the pub at key moments during the month – and at the End of Movember party at The Station on Saturday 30th November we will try to capture some photos of the moustachios and bearded wildlife!
