Racing at Market Rasen

Andy studying form... or is that a song sheet?
Andy studying form… or is that a song sheet?

THE SOUNDS of raucous laughter and song was heard along the motorway as the coach returned regulars to The Station after their day’s racing at Market Rasen Racecourse last Sunday.

The cheery choral cacophony (try saying that after a pint!) was the result after having perhaps too much sun and too much fun at the Races – and being pub regulars, it just might have had something to do with the odd beer or wine being sipped during the day!? Andy led the community singing after pinching the coach driver’s microphone, and the bawdy laughter was ably led by civic Sue!

But there was a serious point to the fun – the Annual Racing trip from The Station raises money for charity; and the quick count-up on the day showed that £230 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Care UK.

Well done The Station! – We might even forgive the singing now….?

  1. It was a fantastic day out again, I think this is the 6th year, all money raised is donated to Macmillan Cancer Support with the final figure not yet calculated
