POLICE are investigating an assault that happened in Hedon on the afternoon of Friday 17th May 2013.
The incident happened between Drapers Lane and St Johns Close at approximately 2:50pms and involved two women who were known to one another.
A 23-year-old Hedon woman was approached by a second woman who is alleged to have grabbed her by the hair and pushed her against a wall.
During the course of the incident the victim had her false nails ripped off and some of her hair was pulled out as she struggled to break free. She also sustained reddening to the left eye and soreness to the back of the neck although did not require medical treatment.
As the altercation was taking place a man is said to have approached the pair and shouted at the offender, using her name, telling her to leave the victim alone. He is also said to have intervened and attempted to pull the suspect away from the victim. The victim does not know the identity of the witness although he has been described as a man in his mid 20s, 6ft tall with blond, short hair.
