UPDATE: Following controversy over the fairground rides in the Market Place at last year’s Christmas Lights Switch-on, the fairground rides this year are all going to be located at the back of the Queen’s Head public house.
On Friday 30th November 2012, in Hedon’s main streets of St Augustine’s Gate and Marketplace, expect traditional Christmas activities with KCFM, a family of reindeer, carol singers, Santa’s Sleigh and even more traditional festive stalls than last year.
The noise, hustle and bustle of the fairground will be set away from the main Christmas Tree.

Hedon Main Street. Just for everyones information, Hedon town Council pay for the small christmas trees that are on brackets on residents house fronts and shops, we supply the lights which are PAT tested, residents and shop owners pay us for the tree with lights, we have them put up and take them down after Christmas, those that have a tree switch them on and pay for the electricty. On behalf of the Town Council I would like to thank all those who do this for Hedon, it makes the Main Street look fantastic.
Why do we have to have KCFM there, blaring out a load of racket? The carol singers are far more festive and tranquil. No need for anything else.
