MALC RIPLEY continues his exciting commentary on the fortunes – or rather current misfortunes – of the South Holderness Cricket Club teams.

One of the worst playing seasons remembered in the Club’s old history continues, with only four recorded victories to date shared by the two senior teams.
The Frst Xl could only manage the worst part of the eventual Draw at Middle Lane when they played host to North Ferriby last week.
Meanwhile, Walkington as leaders in the York Eastern Conference Div One section, thrashed the An Xl by all ten wickets, after crashing to a meagre 45 total in 24.4 overs.
The returning Andy Kunkell played virtually a lone role as only he reached double figures – 21 not out – in an otherwise abysmal batting performance, when they fielded only ten men.
The home side required 40 deliveries to earn a simple win with Rich Jobling with a solid 29 assisted by fellow opener Chris Cook’s 16 not out sealing an easy victory, to leave the Hedon based side facing relegation, some 27 points behind second from the bottom Skidby, with only one match remaining.
Many thanks to Malc for keeping us updated with all the news – albeit gloomy – from our local cricket club at Middle Lane.
