8:47 am

DID YOU KNOW… that Hedon Town Council is actually responsible for a wide range of public assets?

The Town Council lists its responsibilities on its website. Many residents may be surprised to learn exactly what assets the council has to consider when carrying out its duties.

These include:

  • The Town Hall
  • The Play area on Greville Road
  • Hedon Cemetery and two fields adjacent to the cemetery
  • Horsewell Pond on Ivy Lane
  • The Red Cross Building and Scout Hut on Sheriff Highway
  • W.R.V.S. Hut on Baxtergate
  • Army Cadets Hut, Far Bank
  • Watson Park
  • Allotments at Sheriff Highway and Twyers Lane
  • Storage facility on Distaff Lane

The council also has responsibility for St Augustine’s Church Clock, its yard and walls. It also has to take on the maintenance costs of any seats, litter bins and dog bins it installs for our benefit.

Find out more about Hedon Town Council’s responsibilities on the council’s website.
