Yorkshire Water Smells – Campaign update

10:13 am
Odours from Waste Water Treatment Works

THE CAMPAIGN against the Yorkshire Water Smells from its waste water treatment works at Saltend seems to have captured the public imagination.

After 11 years of ‘putting up’ and becoming tolerant or ‘used to’ the smells people have decided enough-is-enough and the matter needs to be sorted once and for all.

The Hedon Blog will publish regular updates (Click here for first update on Google Documents) so that all those following the campaign can keep abreast of the latest news. Over 500 people have asked to be kept up to date by e-mail so the task of making this happen will start this week.

A small meeting for those that want to actively get involved in an organising group will take place at The Station, Souttergate, Hedon on Tuesday 9th August 2011 at 6:30pm.

Many thanks to The Station for their support – they are keen to see their small room used for meetings and functions.

HU12 will offer more detailed commentary on some issues. See Yorkshire Water Smells – Confident of a solution after residents declare ‘Enough is Enough!’

  1. Hey there

I’m from the news team at Viking FM and I was wondering if it was ok if I came along to the meeting at the start tomorrow night to just gage some opnions from people on the smell?

It’s been a story we’ve been tracking for a while.

My number is 01482 320903 if you need me
