Fletchergate in Hedon will be closed for resurfacing on Sunday 3 July.
Service 75 buses will run from the bypass along Hull Road and New Road (from the roundabout next to the Kingstown Hotel), serving all stops up to the second entrance into Draper’s Lane, where the bus will turn around and go back to the bypass again. Buses on their way out of Hull will follow this diversion in reverse.
Please note that we are now no longer able to go into Hedon via Thorn Road, as previously publicised, because we were told this route would be available to buses but we found during the last closure that there were further roadworks that meant buses could not get through. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Services 78/277 from Paull will go via Haven Basin Road, Thorn Road, Acklam Road, Inman’s Road, St Mary’s Drive, Brevere Road, Magdalen Lane, Burstwick Road and Weghill Road to Preston crossroads.
Services 78/277 from Preston will follow their normal route to Station Lane, and then will go via Magdalen Lane, Brevere Road, St Mary’s Drive, Inman’s Road, Acklam Road, Thorn Road and Haven Basin Road.
Services 78/277 will not be able to serve stops at Hedon Market Place, Baxtergate, Fletchergate, Sheriff Highway and Thorn Road corner. If you usually board or alight the bus here please use an alternative stop.
There will also be a second road closure requiring different diversions: St Augustine’s Gate and Market Place will be closed on Sunday 10 July and Sunday 17 July. Service 78 buses from Hull which change into 277 in Hedon will run their normal route to Acklam Road, and then will go via Inman’s Road, St Mary’s Drive, Brevere Road, Magdalen Lane, Burstwick Road and Weghill Road to Preston crossroads, where they will resume their normal route. This means that buses will not be able to serve stops on Thorn Road/Fletchergate, St Augustine’s Gate/Market Place and Inman’s Road. Service 75 buses, and Service 277 buses that turn into a 78 at Hedon, will not be affected.
