“THE BIGGEST LOSER” in 2005 was Aaron Howlett from Hull who lost 9st 12lbs (63kg) to win the first series of the weight-losing reality ITV television show.
Aaron’s latest challenge is to do the famous walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End and back in just 56 days. The walk which starts in June this year is to raise funds for the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children).
Aaron is being helped in his feat, both financially and physically by Wigster.com – the legal comparison website. As well as donating admin time, equipment, and promotional support, Wigster is also enlisting the help of its senior management team to accompany Aaron on legs of his 1,750 mile trip.
Some of Wigster ‘s directors and other colleagues dropped into Hedon yesterday whilst on a training walk from Hull to Withernsea. Never ones to miss a chance, the walkers were using the training opportunity to raise money for another good cause, this time for relief work for victims of the Japanese Tsunami.
Wigster director Tony Bowler (pictured centre) said he had completed over 200 miles in training. It has helped him get fit and lose weight. He expected it to take 6 hours to get to Withernsea: “It’ll be fish and chips on the beach when we get there – or more likely oxygen and a drip!”
