THE INQUEST into the death of Hedon opera star, Amy Black, has recorded a narrative verdict. In such a verdict the circumstances of a death are recorded but without attributing criminal or civil liability to any named individual.

The inquest in Hull heard that the blood supply to Amy’s heart had become restricted by a narrowing of the coronary arteries. The condition, known as stenosis, had developed following heart surgery in June 2009.

The Coroner, Geoffrey Saul, in his verdict stated that Amy had died on 24 November 2009 due to a fatal cardiac arrhythmia, which came about as a result of insufficient blood flow in her heart.
