Hedon and District Chrysanthemum Society – 62nd Annual Show

THE 62nd Annual Exhibition of chrysanthemums, vegetables, craft and cookery takes place on Saturday 6th November.

“Look at the size of them!”

This traditional family event, organised by the Hedon and District Chrysanthemum Society, is not just something to come and see – but also something you can get involved in. There are over 70 classes of competition for people to enter – whilst the chrysanthemum classes are likely to be fought by experienced competitors and members of the society, then other classes are open to novices.

There are competitions for all manner of vegetables, including the best vegetable grown by an under 16-year-old. The craft classes are looking for entrants to submit paintings, knitting and cross-stitch. The cookery section seeks best chocolate cakes, fruit scones and jams! There are many categories of competition that you can enter – far too many to list here.

The event at the Alexandra Hall in the town centre is open to the public from 2:00pm – 4:30pm (admission by donation please). Trophies will be presented to the winners by the Mayor of Hedon Councillor Mrs Brenda Goldspink at 4.30pm on the day.
