THE HEDON BLOG has continued to build upon its coverage of town events and hopefully develop itself as a useful website. And whilst our local audience is still small, it is growing all the time!

Hedon viewing statistics - Feb 2009 - August 2010

During what is normally a “dead month” for events and activities due to the holiday period, the Hedon Blog managed to grow its viewing figures for August to 7,281 (compared with 2,330 in August 2009). The figures for the month were helped enormously by the coverage of Yorkshire Day in Hedon on 1st August 2010 with 778 readers on that day alone.

It is not only the main site that has grown but the Hedon Blog Facebook Group has reached 200 friends.

As resources allow, the Hedon Blog will try to achieve more offline publicity through local leaflets and distributing ‘business’-type cards – the last time we circulated a flyer was last November 2009! The leaflet was not the most “jazzy” creation but the statistics at the time proved that more people did have a look at the Blog.

The Hedon Blog I hope has become part of the local scene for people looking for information about the town – but that would not be possible unless you kept coming back to see what’s going on!

So thank you – thank you very much! – for following and helping to put Hedon on the internet map actually making a different kind of local news!

And a particular thanks to those that subscribe, leave comments and send e-mails with local information and news. And to those who complete the Psst! Send us a news tip! and What’s On forms! Please keep doing this 🙂
