THE HOLDERNESS GAZETTE reports that Hedon Town Council has challenged a planning application to extend Inman’s Primary School for not providing “adequate additional parking facilities”.

The area around the school already has problems with excessive inappropriate and nuisance on-street parking according to local residents.

The Town Council has asked the planning authority at the East Riding Council to put the planning application on hold until additional car parking facilities are made available within the site.

  1. The majority of the cars seem to come from the large housing estate on Thorngumbald Road. How about the council think about building another footbridge at the bottom of the estate and linking it with Bond Street making it into a short cut to Inmans Primary School and quite possibly reducing the number of cars dropping children off at the school. The school isnt actually increasing its pupil capacity by building the new premises but decreasing the amount of traffic in the area may appease local residents.
