Hedon Pop-in volunteers sought for Wednesday mornings!

Can you lend a hand on Wednesday mornings at the Hedon ‘Pop-in’ at Alexandra Hall, Hedon? Especially putting out the tables and chairs and packing them away afterwards.

Hedon Pop-in Volunteers!

WEDNESDAY mornings at the Alexandra Hall, Hedon are busy as the Pop-in gets going again! In 2023 the Wednesday Pop-in can claim its 30th anniversary of service!

Hedon Pop-in volunteers are needed! Getting the hall ready for each Pop-in takes some effort

For nearly 30 years the hall has been the venue for the Pop-in tea/coffee mornings. Always busy, and full of people from across the district and the region as well as locals, the Pop-in has become something of a social institution providing chat, friendship and a place to meet – as well as the teas and coffees.

Since 11th May 2022, and following inactivity due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Pop-in is back (10am – 12noon) and as busy as ever with Tea, Coffee and Biscuits at £1.50 and Cake at £1.00.

The Wednesday Pop-In is now organised by MHA Communities and intends to be able to offer lots of additional benefits to those popping in, including trips! You can find out more about the MHA Communities Team at the Pop-In.

However, Nicky from MHA has highlighted a need for more volunteers to help out. The Pop-in relies heavily upon a set of volunteers to manage the morning of which an important part is putting out the chairs and tables before it opens (from 9am) and packing them away again afterwards.

The Pop-in organisers have made an appeal for new people to volunteer some time on a Wednesday morning to help out. If you can lend a hand, even if only for an hour, then do pop into the Pop-in and let the organisers know!
