A PUBLIC QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION is taking place for those wishing to find out more about the Lelley Fields Crematorium being built off Lelley Road near Preston.
The project website states: “The project teams from the Council and Kier Construction are hosting three sessions to share news on progress, to answer your questions and to seek your input in future decisions.”
The three sessions take place on Monday 28th February 2022 at the Preston Community Hall from 5-6pm, 6-7pm and 7-8pm.
Councillor Jonathan Owen, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “I am pleased that work on a new crematorium has started in Holderness and we have an opportunity to share progress on this exciting project with residents.”
Dan Doherty, regional director at Kier Construction North & Scotland, said: “We are working closely with East Riding of Yorkshire Council to provide this excellent facility for the community. It is important that we meet with the local community to share news and ideas.”
In October 2021 Kier Group was awarded the contract by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to build the new crematorium. Work is expected to be completed in early 2023. It will be the first East Riding of Yorkshire Council-operated crematorium.
