Terry WestUKIP’s Terry West has published his election statement on the Hedon Blog.

As he is standing for UKIP (United Kingdom Independence Party), Mr West says that should make it clear to Hedon voters where he stands on national issues.

But on local issues; having lived in Hedon for 32 years, he says, his comprehensive knowledge of the town, combined with his practical knowledge of construction and design, will lead to “a pragmatic approach that would help deliver better services and infrastructure to the residents of Hedon.”

On the resignations from the council; Mr West says “let us hope that all of the new and existing councillors will work together for the greater good of Hedon.”

  1. I look forward to reading your statement Steve , however i would say this Since losing the last by-election you haven’t commented on this blog or any of the goings on in our little town. Now seems like your on every post As the stand in mayor has already mentioned very disappointing that none of the candidates attended the precept meeting, thought you would all have liked to see were the money is going to be spent. I would like to say good luck to Colin and Terry proper local lads with what seems like no political agenda to follow, just wanting to make a difference. local people supporting local people.

  2. I can’t see why these candidates feel the need to push their own political views here. Surely the whole point of Hedon Town Council is that it’s independent of national parties and exists wholly for the good of our borough? I think this is what Terry West is getting at. We all have our leanings but this isn’t the platform for them. Our councillors are there purely for our town and not to further any political ambitions…or have I misunderstood the nature of these elections?

    1. Just a reminder about our guidelines for comments… We don’t want to stop people sharing their views or discussing topics they are enthusiastic about, but we do ask users to find ways of doing this that do not feel divisive, threatening or toxic to others.

And can commentators leave their full names please!

      The Editor.

    2. If you dont want UKIP make sure you use BOTH of your 2 votes for the other candidates ( perhaps including myself of course ! ) as staying at home could let UKIP in ! I will be posting a statement for the Hedon Blog in the next day or so.

Leave a comment. You need to leave your FULL NAME.
