REGULARS from The Station pub in Hedon have presented a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support representing monies they’ve raised during the last few months.
Jim Lindop on behalf of the other regulars at the Souttergate local, presented Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager Crystal Ness with a cheque for £525.
The majority of the money raised came from the pub’s annual charity fundraising race trip to Market Rasen organised in the summer, but also included regular small amounts raised from football ‘bus stop’ cards and donations.
Crystal Ness, Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager, who was brought up in near-by Thorngumbald, said “Thank you so much to people in The Station. Macmillan could not continue to provide its vital services without the ongoing support of the public.”
A big thank you to all the customers of the Station who put their names on the football cards and those who spent the day at the races, another brilliant day in the summer with sore heads in the morning, I think next year will be the 7th year raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Looking forward to it. Also thanks for putting money in the Help Heroes pots another £15.52 towards the charity.
