WE HAVE a double whammy of treats today for the Wednesday Writings Column. We move away from our normal format to bring two different cultural offerings:
- Firstly, we include the film to be shown as part of Hull’s bid to be the UK City of Culture for 2017.
- We include last week’s poem on Radio! David Thompson unfortunately did not perform his poem “East and West” at the Rugby World Cup match as hoped (the item at the England V Fiji match was cancelled) but he did perform it on BBC Radio Humberside on Saturday morning. There is also an excellent poem “Up North it’s Grin” performed by Michael Wood.
